A song got Aaron Estrada’s day going.

The Crimson Tide carried on a team tradition by having its freshman perform a rendition of “Happy Birthday” at practice before Alabama’s game versus Mississippi State. The transfer guard for UA was then serenaded by the student section while Alabama practiced shooting.

Freshman Jarin Stevenson made a postgame joke, saying, “It might not have been like the best signing.”

Although they are terrible vocalists, it’s still entertaining. As he left the podium after UA’s 32-point victory, head coach Nate Oats said, “Sounded like me if I had to sing.”

On Saturday, Estrada, 23, had a good deal to be happy about. In the 99-67 victory, Estrada finished with 15 points on seven of 13 shots, three assists, and one steal.

Mississippi State was thoroughly outclassed by Alabama men’s basketball on Saturday at Coleman Coliseum. The Bulldogs were never competitive in the game after the first few minutes, as the Crimson Tide won 99-67.

The victory kept the Tide atop the SEC standings. Alabama’s record this season is 16-6, with an 8-1 record in conference play.

Mississippi State center Tolu Smith stated afterward, “It was just an old-fashioned ass-whupping from start to finish.”
